Is Enhance Speech really that bad?

I have tried using Enhance Speech for my recordings, but the sound I get back sounds like someone has stuffed pillows in the mouths of everyone who speaks. I expected a lot from v2, but they have kept the same sound as if the speakers had pillows in their mouths. I have tried using other services, and their sound is super crisp without pillows in their mouths. I experience Enhance Speech as really amateurish, it also has a lot of difficulty with the end of sentences, which it constantly just cuts away. I would like to hear if anyone knows if this is just how Adobe likes voices to sound, or if there is something you can do about it? Otherwise, I have to face up to the fact that Adobe delivers a number of products that simply do not meet a minimum of quality and I have to find another product.

I have now written this post and am now being told that I am not allowed to post it without giving it a topic. I am required to choose one or more of the following topics: file sync, collaboration, libraries and cloud storage web assist. I have no way of knowing which of these topics my request belongs to and at first glance it does not seem that any of the options I am given have the slightest connection to what I am writing. I must say that they are trying very hard to make it as difficult as possible to communicate.

Hi @Jarlskov, thank you for sharing your feedback on Enhance Speech v2. To your point regarding Enhance speech cutting off the end of sentences, have you tried using the strength slider? I've found that it helps (especially if the audio is starting to sound over-processed). Example below:

I have been working with and using enhanced speech ever since it came out (both v1 and v2). I use it twice a week, and I have done everything, tried everything, including using the slider from 1 to 100, and have not been able to get rid of the many pillows that are stuck in the mouths of the voices. I still use it, as it saves me some work, but I have to set a lot of sound settings to remove the sound of the pillows in the mouth and I often have to go in and get the end of the sentences from the old original files, as they have been deleted or changed to strange sounds by enhanced speech. I think it is because enhanced speech is made for really bad recordings, mainly lousy cell phone recordings. Mine are not, mine are good recordings, but there is some reverberation and I like the voices to come a little closer to the speaker cover. That is why I use it. My problem is that I've tried other products, such as cleanvoice.ai, which deliver a really crisp and clear sound on voices, without stuffing pillows in the voices' mouths or cutting off sentences. And since I can see that such a product will save me even more time than enhanced speech, it just annoys me that I have to go out and pay for another product. It's not something I'm angry about, I'm just asking because I want to make sure that I can't expect fewer pillows in my mouth before I spend money on another product 🙂

Regarding topics, I'm afraid you have to be very familiar with your world to understand which topics to choose - and especially how to find and choose them. I couldn't find any place at all where you could talk about Speech Enhancer here. Of course, I tried that first. So I had the option to give up asking or to write it anyway, without a topic I thought was suitable. When I did, your system showed a number of options for topics I could choose from, but none of the topic options you show me here, for example, were something I could choose. I know it may be me who doesn't understand your system and that you probably think it's really easy and smart, but for someone who doesn't spend that much time here, it's not that easy at all and I can almost never find the topic I think is suitable. I just have to admit that finding topics here frustrates me quite a bit and often it ends up with me not writing at all.
