MAJOR ISSUE WITH EDITING PODCAST

Hi there,

I’m experiencing a major issue with the new Adobe Podcast interface that is preventing me from producing my podcast. I’ve walked through every available tutorial and troubleshooting path, and at this point I’m unable to complete my episodes due to missing functionality that previously existed.

Here is the issue in detail:

1. My account appears to be locked into the new Script-Only Editor

When I open any project — even a brand new one — I only see the Script Editor interface.
There is:

  • No waveform view

  • No timeline / multitrack mode

  • No draggable audio clips

  • No option to punch in/punch out

  • No option to replace audio mid-episode

This is true whether I start a new “Podcast Episode,” upload an audio file, or export and re-import a WAV/MP3.

2. Features that used to exist have disappeared

Previously, Adobe Podcast allowed:

  • Recording directly in place

  • Replacing lines in the middle of an episode

  • Dragging clips into the correct position

  • Editing on an actual timeline

  • Multitrack audio editing

All of this functionality is now missing in my interface.

3. I do NOT see any of the toggles shown in tutorials

There is no:

  • “Timeline” or “Waveform” toggle

  • “Convert to Multitrack” button

  • Three-dots menu on audio blocks

  • Right-side menu offering “Edit in waveform” or similar

I have hovered, clicked, expanded menus, and checked multiple browsers — these options simply do not exist in my version.

Screenshots can be provided, but the only interface I see is a script with locked paragraph blocks and a single pink audio strip at the top.

4. Even when I export and re-upload audio, Adobe still forces me into Script Mode

I exported my episode, created a brand-new project, and re-imported the MP3.
Instead of opening in waveform/multitrack view, Adobe Podcast immediately wraps the file into the Script Editor again.

This makes it impossible to:

  • Replace a single line

  • Insert a new recording

  • Move or trim audio

  • Edit mid-episode

  • Build episodes the way narrative podcasters need to

5. I rely on these tools for professional podcast production

My show requires:

  • Re-recording individual lines

  • Punching in corrections

  • Moving clips around

  • Editing pacing and transitions

The current version of Adobe Podcast (Web) will not allow any of this.

6. I do not have access to Adobe Audition through my plan

Since Adobe Podcast no longer provides the editing features it previously did, the only workaround would be Adobe Audition — but I am being prompted to start a paid trial.

I’m hoping this is a bug or account setting issue rather than a permanent removal of essential features.

What I need help withIs multitrack/timeline editing being removed, or is my account experiencing a UI bug?

How can I regain access to waveform editing, replacing audio, and clip movement?

Is there a way to disable Script Mode entirely so I can edit audio like before?

If the solution is Audition, can it be enabled on my account without an additional cost?

This issue has made it impossible to finish my podcast episode, so any guidance or restoration of previous functionality would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
