How to build a large prototype without any performance issues?

HI

I am busy developing a prototype for a project that in the end will probably have over 140 pages.
Already now at 80+ I am hitting some serious performance issues.
Does anyone have advice how to manage larger projects?

Can I break it up into different files and then when running through the actual working prototype jump from one file to another? I have searched and cant find anything on this.

Or maybe its my system thats suffering and not an XD issue, using a 2017 Mac Book Pro with 8G Ram?

Thanks

Lee

- Create simple components. Avoid at all cost to create nested components.

- Delete elements in the artboard that won't be show. I was used to duplicate artboards and create elements of top of the previous elements (for transitions) and duplicate this new artboard, but I was leaving elements that would never be acessed in that artboard. So the tip is: delete elements in the background of the artboard that won't be acessed.

-If it happens to leave background elements for aesthetic only (like a darkened background for a dialog message or something, delete triggers from elements that shouldn't be acessed in that artboard.
