Xd to Ae vs ai to Ae

Hi when creating website examples I've always created the main look and feel in illustrator and then imported to After effects to animate. From your experience is there a benefit of using xd instead of illustrator? Many thanks

In addition to what's said there, I'd add that XD can build some animations within the app. So at least for some things you might not need After Effects. That would vastly improve your workflow being able to build it all on one app: XD.

Hi keepitsimple,

 

My personal opinion is that Adobe XD is the better tool to use for web and mobile interface design. It comes with prototyping features, components for streamlining your work process, tons of useful plugins (for icons, images, colour palettes, etc) and a share link feature so that you can share your work easily with others. Not to mention you can collaborate with multiple people at the same time in a single file. I tend to use Illustrator for creating my vectors and graphics, which I can then transfer to XD. 

 

My advice is to try it out and see for yourself! There are lots of useful resources online that can introduce you to XD. I'd personally recommend all of Howard Pinsky's Masterclasses, which can be found on YouTube. Let me know if you have any more questions!
