Question

Adobe Animate crashes at random

I've been using Adobe Animate for a couple of weeks now, and ever since at random times it just crashes and shuts down.

The problem occurs at random but mostly whenever I use free transform or change colors in objects.

Allthough I'm not quite sure if that's the issue that's causing it because it also happened when I put text on my stage...

I've already send a report to Adobe multiple times when the problem occured and the window popped up to "restore" my project.

I've tried everything from deleting, uninstalling, deleting preferences, restart computer...

I run on a Macbook Pro I7 16GB ram, which is sufficient for some basic stickfigure animations so I guess that's not the problem. I also have all the other Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, After effects... All work perfectly fine.

But the ony one I actually need "Adobe Animate" just doesn't work properly.

This is really frustrating...

Can anyone share some insights, advice or possible solutions?

I sincerly hope this is just a bug that they are aware of and are already fixing in a future update. I can't imagine a business running this program (which is payed for) and it just crashes at random... Adobe whatsup???

(Resetting my Macbook to factory isn't an option...)

I'm running on Ventura so this is unlikely my OS fault.

I've had the error on the previous OS also and now with Ventura again.

Just installed an older version of Animate (latest 23).

Still the same, instant crash when -> Place rectangle, convert to symbol, double click, color to linear gradient, select the color to change and instant crash..

I've seen others post about issues with gradients on Mac OS, so that is not new.

At this stage Animate is a wreck and no one even pretends to care or fix stuff any more.

It seems that it is more broken on Mac OS than on Windows.
