Question

I was able to install Animate 19 after contacting support, but it closes immediately after opening

I recently built a new computer running Windows 11 and I installed Animate 22 using the regular Creative Cloud application. Animate 22 is giving me a lot of problems (most notably crashing every time I try building a swf) probably because I'm trying to work with the ancient Scaleform extension and source files. Animate 19 was working fine on my old Windows 10 computer for building swf files that use Scaleform. Animate 19 is no longer available for installation through Creative Cloud. I contacted Adobe support and Adobe sent me a link to download and install Animate 19. I successfully installed Animate 19, but I cannot open it. Animate 19 shows the splash screen, then opens a window, and the window stays open for just a moment, and then closes.

 

I tried following the steps in https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/kb/animate-crashes-on-launch-startup.html but that did not fix the problem. I don't think the program is crashing. It looks like it opens and then automatically closes. Is there anything special that I have to do in order to use Animate 19 that was installed outside Creative Cloud?

Thanks, but that seems to be instructions for installing Animate. Animate installs just fine, and then I'm able to open Animate too. The problem is that Animate closes itself right away. If I had to guess, I would think that the issue is most likely a problem with verifying my license.
