Question

A saved session "regresses" after AA crash.

Hi,

I was working on a multitrack session (about 12 tracks) and made sure I hit "Save" every once in a while, as well as when I was done for the day.

Next day I saw that Audition had quit unexpectedly. When reopening yesterday's project, it appeared empty. All the recorded files were piled up

in the left upper corner, but not inside the session. So I recompiled it again. It took a while, as some of the bits were not starting at 0'.

A couple of days later the story repeated with a slight change - this time the session only had first three tracks in place out of 12 that were there when I finished working on it last. It seems that Audition had restored an earlier auto-saved version of the session, because I had muted 2 of those 3 these tracks when last working on the project.

I tried to open the .sesx files from "Backup" folder, but the result was always the same - three tracks, the rest missing.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any idea where could all the saved versions have gone?

tech.:

iMac 27-inch, 2017

4,2 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Adobe Audition CC 11.1.

It would almost certainly help if you did what it says here: Audition Crashed. Now what? to try to find out why it quit or crashed. If it really is a crash, then there will be a saved log file containing clues - or possibly two of them. It may be worth posting the contents here, but this is a Mac you're talking about, and we're predominantly PC users. Whether you do or not, then follow the instructions at the end ot the thread anyway and send it to audbugs@adobe.com

Have you had Audition working OK previously? V.11.1 is an old version now so it would be worth while making sure that you are updated to CC 2019 v.12. Normally if you have Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app installed it should remind you when there are updates and download and install them for you.

Yes, thanks, I'm updating it right now. Hopefully it will solve the issue.
