Does anyone know how to change the numeric decimal places in amplitude statistics back to normal? Mine changed out of nowhere to really long format and I cant get them back to the way they were or default. Thanks./
I've already seen this question asked but it was a post five years ago and apparently it still hasn't been addressed - why not allow saved presets in the save as dialogue box why should I have to keep changing every recording that I'm making (or that I'm editing) only in the WAV format. I developed or tried to develop a workflow of duplicating a .m4a file, selecting all of the audio, deleting the audio, recording a new podcast with that duplicated file name, and then hoping just to do command us to save still in the .m4a/16 bit format that the original file was in. But no. Audition really wants to make everything a WAV file or to force me to make multiple menu selections so that I can save as .m4a - which in the situation that I tested today was the difference between a 50 minute record recording that would have taken up 560 MB as a WAV file versus only 100 MB as a .m4a file… but I had to go through the process of selecting a different file type and then a different bit depth and then
This is a problem that has persisted for a long time now, and it’s so frustrating. I do a lot of work in waveform mode, cleaning up narration audio, and what always happens within a few minutes of starting, the audio begins to crackle. This does not effect any audio or video outside of premiere, but while working with the audio it sounds like an old record player. This is not an intrinsic quality of the audio itself, but something happening during playback. I am using Windows 10, an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core CPU, and GeForce 4060 Ti GPU. I have 64G of DD4 RAM, with less than 30% utilization while using Audition, using only about 18G with a 46G cache. While using the program I have 52G ram reserved for audition, using an SSD with about 160G free space as primary cache. In Task Manager, audition is only using about 200M ram. CPU usage is negligible. So I can’t imagine that the problem is with ram, cache, or CPU, and for that reason, I don’t know how to stop it from happening. I should
Hi everyone, I'm a podcast editor working with AU on a Dell notebook that seems to have a pretty solid configuration for the job. However, I constantly have performance issues that annoy me and slow my workload down.I would like to understand what might be causing this and if there is something I could do to minimize or prevent this from happening. The main problems are: a short lag when I move several clips on the timeline at once and a tiny delay between pressing play and having the audio to be reproduced.I usually edit shows that run from half an hour to one hour. Our main product is a daily news podcast, with two hosts, one interviewee (sometimes two), and a track for actualities. soundtrack does not run through the entire show, only as bg for the opening and closing sections and for short moments between segments of the interview. One action I use quite frequently is "selecting all clips after / before the played" to move them where I need. I know "ripple delete" has a similar effe
Hi everyone, I am trying to understand my turntable’s frequency response and to this end I have a sweep from the CBS STR 100 record. The sweep (for each channel) is constant amplitude below 500 Hz and constant velocity above that. I am trying to find a way to spot the gaps in the frequency response but on the volume curve there is a line rising up to 500 Hz and descending after that (as it should!). How could I tell Adobe Audition to show me the exact frequency response curve please? Is it even possible? Thank you!
I’m trying to mix radio liners, but Adobe Audition 2026 (26.0.0.56) is ruining them by applying an echo effect on every one. It seems insane! And it’s driving me close to the same precipice. Maybe I should just switch back to a stable version like 2024?Any clip on the Flanger track gets an echo effect. There are absolutely no clip FX, and you can see the track FX in my screenshot. Even with Flanger turned off, the echo happens in the mixdown (not in the SESX itself).
I have been asked to begin exporting episodes of a podcast that I edit in .aac format to meet the requirements of a new hosting service. However, Audition will not let me do so. When I select “MPEG 2-AAC (*.aac)” in the Format dropdown, I get a yellow warning sign next to the “OK” button that reads “The currently selected filter cannot save all files in the needed format” which is preventing me from progressing. I have tried a few things.I exported the file as an .mp3 and then opened it in Audition and exported that file as an .aac file. This was rejected by the host, saying that it was not encoded as an .aac file. I used Adobe Media Encoder to convert the .mp3 file to .aac. This was rejected by the host with the message “This file has an M4A extension but it does not appear to be an M4A file based on its contents.” Any help on how to proceed with exporting the file as .aac would be appreciated. Included below is a screenshot of the Export Multitrack Mixdown dialog box.
Hello friends!I got a video recording I have to edit and the audio is...OK. But it kind of stutters and chops like it was recorded with pretty bad latency or a slow computer. I don't want to ask for another recording since they did an excellent performance and the audio isn't a deal-killer. But it drops to almost silent at several points throughout, making the whole thing sound rough, choppy, and stuttery.Any chance to intelligently repair those tiny little gaps? I'm looking for the opposite of noise reduction I guess! --------Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9980HK CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz32.0 GB RamAudition 23.1.0.75
Hi all, I recorded a 20 song compilation with Audtion and when the compilation was burnt I loaded the CD-R into my PC to play and all I had was 20 files of non music files. Each one sounded different but there wasn’t any music to be found. The knock on effect of this has caused the 20 songs on my hard drive to sound completely the same as the CD-R. Can I get the 20 songs on my hard drive sounding back to normal. Please find attached one of the 20 songs.
Help me!!! When I click files and then open. It shows up as my account on the computer, but I want it to be a different account. How can I switch accounts.
Hi all, I posted something similair recently but having the same issue. Problem: while either playing back or recording, the Audio Hardware settings pop up notification pops up even though there was no change to the Hardware. This is getting increasingly frustrating. I just upgraded from an old behringer USB Mixer (which worked fine) to a new Behringer UMC 1824 Audio Interface. Thats when I started noticing this problem. Since I was not able to resolve, I thouhght it was an issue with the interface itself. Just bought a brand new Presonus Studio 1824C and suprise suprise, the same issue is occuring. This has to be an issue with some setting somehwhere in Adobe that is causing this. I tested on my laptop and it same problem. All signs pointing to Adobe. I can't imagine that Adobe Audition can't support either of those interfaces. Can anyone think of why Adobe would keep thinking the Audio Hardware changes when there is nothing getting plugged in/out at t
I can't get Adobe Audition to see my microphone or my TASCAM audio interface. This just started. Prior to this, I've never had any problem. I was thinking that a recent Windows 11 update ransacked my settings, but I haven’t been able to verify this. I have a very old TASCAM unit, but it still lights up and receives power. I'm at a loss for next steps.
I have to bite the bullet and upgrade my PC. Can anyone suggest a compatible over-the-counter system from Best Buy, Staples or Costco? They’re the stores where I live, but I’d also consider delivery from another supplier. Would like to keep my cost down, of course. Monitor is not needed. This is for Audition use only, for voiceover. I have the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 as an interface, and I work from within a booth. Thank you!!
I have a track that changes time signatures from 4/4 to 3/4 at measure 61. The beats still line up because the tempo is the same, but the measures don’t and I want them to line up for both the 4/4 section and the 3/4 section without having to split the track into 2 files.
On our church audio recording PC, I have a shortcut set to open Audition. Well, I apparently set it directly to the 2025 version rather than “the latest” as I did not realize it would change with updates. So my first question is: How do I create a shortcut, that assuming we do not change the computer for a few years, as the latest updates roll in, it will simply open the latest version instead of a specific year of Audition?Related question: I noticed that if I open the 2026 version, it’s as if we never used it, so my multi-channel presets do not pull in. How do I copy over any presets/settings from the 2025 to the 2026 version (and hopefully continue with newer versions or just make sure the newer versions pull in the previous settings automatically? Thanks for any ideas.
I own an old-fashioned Mackie HUI panel which i connect to my windows PC using a MIDI-USB cable. This works fine using ProTools, but when i try to connect to Audition and select the HUI protocol, it tells me that it has problems accesing a resource (HUIConfig). If i use the same setup on my macbook everything works fine, if i install Audition on my Windows 10 laptop, i get the same problem. Anyone has some idea?
I have been working with Au for over three years now and have had virtually no issues with voice recording blog posts, doing overlays w voice and music, creating multitracks, etc. I have a Avantone mic, which has the versatility I need to get the basics done on pretty much any project I will be working on. I am having a problem using my avantone in stereo, (dome?) format. I have researched how to dial my mic, my scarlett solo, etc... for this project and tried many combinations to make sure it wasn’t an issue with the mic or any other part of my setup. I want to capture the sound of singing bowls that have deeper and stronger resonances and I am pretty sure the issue stems from Auditions presets, but I don’t want to overmanipulate or create issues where they aren’t. When testing, I always speak into the mic and can hear every nuance. The thing is, I can’t capture the slightest sound from the very loud bowls. Anyone have any advice on what I need to adjust? Thanks in advance.
I own Audition CS5.5. In launching it I get a message stating my serial is already activated on 2 other devices. Most likely due to when I upgraded my computer and did not deactivate it. Called Adobe support, they said there is nothing they can do. The activation servers have been deprecated. Adobe support recommended I post to the forums for a possible solution. Are you aware of a work around for my issue?
I’m going through and updating some of my Favorites for better naming and identification/order. However, unless I’m blind there is seemingly no way to do so. I’m going into Favorites > Edit Favorites.Someone please tell me I’m missing something, because if not it’s absolutely crazy there’s no way to do this.
Hi,I've had this problem for three weeks now and I don't have a clue how to solve it (my Google fu probably isn't strong enough). This is the situation:1. I open audition and press the record button. In the 'New Audio File' I click on 'OK' and the recording starts. But the audio is a flat line...there's no waveform, nothing. And of course, if I play the recorded sound there is no sound. But the recording does start without problems.2. If I enter the 'Audio Hardware...' in Preferences it says the Default Input is the 'Built-In Microphone' and 'Built-in Output' for the output. The Master-clock is at 'Built-in Output', I/O at 512 Samples and Sample Rate at 44100Hz.3. If I connect our 2i2 Scarlett USB with a condenser microphone, it's the same. So I first pick the 2i2 under the Default Input and the 'Built-in Output' under output. Still a flat line and no audio.4. If I open the new macOS app 'Voice Memos' and hit the record button, the program does record audio and I can play it back as no
Audition spectral frequency and pitch seem to be pretty bad at identifying the correct octave of low bass guitar notes. The open E on a four string bass guitar is 41 Hz, the lowest G is 49 Hz. These correspond to E1 and G1 of a piano-based pitch nomenclature (used in the scale of Spectral Pitch view). But when I analyze a bass guitar part I often see the ‘main’ (most powerful) notes are indicated as E2 and G2 in frequency and pitch spectra, even though, for sure, E1 and G1 are the notes being played on the guitar. Sometimes the E1 is virtually invisible, even though it is certainly the low open E string being struck. Certainly a bass parts can have a considerable amount of upper harmonics, (eg a Rickenabcker bass using roundwound strings) but Audition is completely failing to indicate the correct octave of the actual struck note. I have tried increasing the spectral resolution, even at maximum it’s getting the octave wrong. Is this a known issue? AI tells me that Audition spectr
I'm having trouble converting my SESX file to an MP3. I've followed all the steps of a bunch of different videos I've seen and can't seem to get it right. I got to Export then Multitrack Mixdown to select the entire session and it doesnt allow to choose that option. I've seen that it needs to be "master" but when I go to my audio hardware it doesnt show anything that says something like that. Once I was done recording I saved the file and disconnected my aggregate device of my microphones and closed adobe audition. I eventually reopneed the file and haven't gotten it to export as an MP3. I am new to this program and any information or steps that can help me would be very appreciated.
Enhance Speech on the Adobe Podcast site is amazing. BUT...my enterprise IT rules won’t let us upload audio to that site, so it’s useless to us. Adobe has built that feature into Premier (video editor) but not Audition (audio editor) and that is crazy. Why???
When exporting a multitrack as an OMF file, it cancels out after a while and says “Clip duration is longer than source.” I see several past conversations but no final solve or answer. People in the past said they thought it was stretched clips, but it seems it wasn’t. Does anyone know how to fix this or what’s really causing it? It’s preventing me from exporting to an OMF file. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you so much!-David
Hello. I am a voice actor who records in mono with 4800 sample rate and a bit depth of 24. Lately I am getting am incessant click-click-clicking on all recordings! A noise reduction takes care of most of it, but I can still hear it at the beginning and end of pieces of vocals. I’ve tried rebooting my Macbook, rebooting Audition, unplugging and re-plugging all wires, and changing sample and bit rates. Nothing seems to work! I would ne greatly appreciative if someone could help he get rid of this problem. Thanks so much. I’m attaching a screenshot of the spectral Frequency Display so you can see a visual of the problem. EDIT: I’ve just discovered that the problem DOES NOT HAPPEN when I use my laptop’s built in microphone!! My audio converter is only about a year or so old, the mic is about 6 years old
