AA CC 2015 can't open any interface devices

Hej community,

I'm using Audition CC 2015 in Win 10 64bit and tried two different Interfaces: 1. M-Audio Fast Track 2. Zoom R16

and after installing the latest drivers etc I got the same message for both:

'Device could not be opened', which made AA snap back to the default ASIO driver (that doesnt work properly, only distorted sounds come out).
Interesting: The R16 works fine with the rest of Windows and plays youtube videos etc through the interface.
Sample Rates: AA denies my choice before there's anything to adjust. The R16 control panel says 44.1k (unchangable), the display on the R16 itself says the same until opening AA, then it says 96k. What's the deal with this? If this was the problem, AA would tell me about it, right?

EDIT: The Zoom ASIO Driver works in FL Studio but only ticking the option "Mix in buffer switch", of which I don't understand, what it does. And the whole thing worked fine on an older laptop in Win10 32bit. Also on another laptop with Win7 64bit.

Recording through the R16 worked for a few minutes by reinstalling the drivers. Then Windows seemed to block it again with Audition giving the same message as before without even opening the R16 driver (re-reinstalled the driver and it seems to remain stable..for now). But even while it worked for a few minutes, Audition couldnt play more complex multi-track sessions and simpler ones only at a buffer rate of 512 or 1024. Bit rates? Windows sound drivers? RAM capacities? What could it be? I guess, I'm pretty much on the edge with 4GB of  RAM, as this is the minimum system requirement.

Alright, this WAAAAYYY helped me out. The partition, AA was running on, didnt have its own virtual RAM and Windows always took Audition its virtual RAM away, its temporary memory.
System -> advanced System Settings -> Performance Options -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory -> change
Now manually set your Virtual Memory. (Windows doesn't need too much, I gave it 3000-6000 MB and another 3000-6000 for my other partition, on which AA is running.) A maximum of about 1,5 x physical RAM is perfect for me. This solved all my lagging, recording and crackling problems.

 

SOOOO: No more skipped samples but only fast recording and playback.
