Adding an essential sounds tag to an entire layer

Question

I have 8+ tracks for my film, 4 dialogue, 3 sfx, 2 atmos and 2 music tracks. Is there a way to apply the essential sounds tag to each seperate layer rather than each clip / file?

When I do select all on the layer / track, and apply it seems to only apply it certain tracks.

My understanding is that you can't do that, no. All of the documentation refers to clips, not tracks. Whilst this is clearly more flexible, I can understand why you might want it to be applicable to tracks, but that option isn't available, I'm afraid.
