Adding favorites that don't run automatically

Hi,

I just made the leap from CoolEdit to Audition (on OSX) and by and large I'm finding my way okay, but there is a thing I can't figure out: I want to populate the Favorites with some commands, like Noise Reduction (process) but I can't seem to add it without also running it. What I want is just for the settings panel to show up, so I can review it before committing. In other words, I want a favorite to do the same thing that would happen if I did shift-command-P.

I did find the 'star' option (next to trash can icon) but that doesn't work for me, either: I immediately get a noise reduction, based on the last noise print I made.

Same problem with the Dynamics Processing menu. I can add it via a star or by recording the action, but I don't want it to run, I just want to see the settings panel.

So what am I doing wrong, guys?

You aren't doing anything wrong - that's simply not an option in Favorites.

What you can do though is to allocate keyboard shortcuts to any effect you've got installed - even the VSTs. If you go into Keyboard Shortcuts, they're all listed under Effects, and allocating a key (or combination of them) opens the effect without running it.
