Adjustments to Adobe 1.5

Just started using Adobe Audition 1.5.  Yea, I know, late bloomer.

A few little annoying glitches I'd like to find out how to get rid of.

First, when I have a sound file opened and minimize program to go to a folder

or email to download another file, that file opens in a completely new Adobe instead

of the one I already have opened.

Second, how do you get adjustments, such as changing settings or anything else to carry

over to additional Adobe programs you open afterward?  In Adobe's great grandfather,

Cool Edit, once these setting were set they would carry over to any additional sessions opened

independently.

Third, is there any way to keep the "points" in the multitrack session to stay there instead of dissapearing

when you select another track?  Again, Cool Edit has the volume & pan point availablt to see whether the

track is being used or not.
