adobe audition 3.0

Well, if you've read through some of the threads about this, then you probably already realise that Audition 3 perpetual was withdrawn for legal reasons that we are not allowed to discuss.

As for the rest of your argument, let's just consider this from a slightly different point of view. You bought a new computer with presumably a new OS and you think that Audition 3, which was developed for an OS several versions back now, still ought to work fine on it? The first thing you need to know is that success with this has been very varied. Yes, you bought a 'perpertual licence' back then (you didn't buy the software outright - read the terms) but did you seriously think this was going to last you for ever? Your computer didn't, and you had to purchase a new one... can you see where this is going?

If people didn't put some money into updates, you wouldn't even be able to ask this question, because this forum wouldn't be here - Adobe would have had to close down through lack of sales. That was pretty much the way Syntrillium was heading; not enough investment possible to keep it together, and they were bought out pretty much in the nick of time. Nothing in life is free; that's the way it goes. Now you may begrudge this, but it is the hard reality; if you want an ongoing product, or even support for an old one (which technically all updates are), you have to contribute.

I hope that this helps you to at least recognise that there might be another point of view, at least...
