Adobe Audition CC 2018 cannot open a CS6 session

Hello everyone,

 

I have an issue about the program as what I mentioned above. The thing is I have a CS6 session with recorded tracks and effect presets of it. I can open it on CS6 normally without crash, but when I open it on CC 2018, it keeps importing its components until 100%, then a pop-up appears saying "Adobe Audition CC 2018 has stopped working" ending up crashing. I still do not know why. I am using Win 8.1 and not really good at computer.

 

I hope everyone here could give me a solution for this.

You cannot run the current version of Audition (or any of the 64-bit ones, which 2018 is) on Windows 8. If you look at the minimum system requirements it's quite clear about this - Audition system requirements. Windows 10 64-bit is all it will run on, unless you have a Mac.

Thank you for your information. Actually, I can use CC 2018 on my win 8.1 normally. I can create a multitrack on it, and add more effects to tracks, things like that. But when I try to open CS6 sessions, the issue is still the same as I mentioned above. 

I also use third-party VST plug-ins on CS6 sessions, and then I imported them on CC 2018. Is that the thing causing crash?

Unless your VST FX are 64bit then it is more than likely the cause
