ADOBE AUDITION CS - Multitrack recording - Q: How do I prevent the recorded track (and the metronome) from being re-recorded on the track I'm trying to overdubb on? I'm feeding my mixer to the Adobe Audition from 2-USB Audio CODEC 1 & 2. I have done many recordings before, but for some reason I cannot figure this out. Please help.

This usually means that Audition's monitor output is being fed straight back into your input. What you need to do is arrange that your mic input and the return from Audition are both sent to your headphones, but not back to the input.  It's not an Audition issue as such - just the way the monitoring is set up, and probably a setting on your mixer. Since we don't know what that is, we can't go any further than that.

Thank you SteveG. I suspected as much... a mixer issue not AA? If I may indulge? I am monitoring and reording thru the USB port  from a small 6 ch Studiomaster... but I cannot find a way to seperate in / out. Would this mean that I should revert back to the analog play / record option? Pity, because the USB feed is so convienient.
