Using 1/4" cables in a Behringer 1622fx, all of my computer "play" audio (playback, etc.) runs through channel 5/6. While recording off the internet, the Adobe Audition recording feeds back as all computer audio feeds through the same channel. Is there a way to disable the Audition playback while recording? Is there a way to route the audio chain differently?

Are you running with channels 5 and 6 turned up as you record? If so, that's the source of the problem--you're feeding Audition back into itself and causing a feedback loop.
If you can live without hearing the computer, just turn down faders 5 and 6. However, a "proper" way to do this is to move your monitoring to an Aux out on your mixer. The mixer features an aux out that can be switched to pre fade (a button beside the knob). Switch your monitor speakers to that Aux output (while Audition is still fed from the main out. Turn down faders 5 and 6 as before but if you turn up the Aux send, you'll still be able to hear the Audition output without causing feedback. You can also monitor things you ARE recording because the same Aux can be turned up even if the faders are up for recording.
