Adobe Audition File Preview.

So I have Adobe CC2019.  It use to be you could click on an audio file and it would give you a preview before importing.  Now that doesn't happen.  I have the "speaker" icon selected as well in multitrack.  It will autoplay one the file is imported...but not before.  What am I missing?  This feature is VERy important for sure!

You're not missing anything - that feature was (rather inevitably) removed when Adobe stopped using the Microsoft file handler internally, and wrote their own browser instead. If it's currently working (not entirely sure about its status) then Bridge should be able to let you preview files before opening them, I believe. With Audition, the demarkation is that the operating system does file manipulation, and the browser merely 'browses' - anyway that is how it is at present. There has been much clamour for a long time now about Audition having some sort of a 'bin' system, and if that ever came to pass then I presume that it would allow for this to happen again.
