Adobe Audition is suddenly beach balling

Question

Nothing has changed on my Mac that I'm aware of. No recent updates or installations. Audition has just suddenly started beach balling every time I attempt to open or close a session. And if you're going to say it's the hard drive, not correct. I use multiple drives, and the one I'm currently using works just fine on my other computer.

Macbook Pro 14 inch 2023 M2 with 16g ram. Audition is up to date (25.0.0.47) and Mac OS is up to date 14.7.1 (as far up to date as my company will allow)

For example, I have a session that I just opened.  There was a plugin on a track that I don't have on this computer.  So, I switched the effects on that track, and hit "save", and it took roughly 20-30 seconds to save.
