Adobe Audition just stops recording at random

Hi. Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm having an issue with Adobe Audition randomly stopping the recording. It could happen at 15 seconds, it could happen at 27 seconds. I have no idea what's the cause of this. I have to keep my audition on top of my scripts to keep an eye on it and check that the waveform is still rolling.

I'm using Audition on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I've checked my hard drive space, and I'm still well over 2TB free, so I'm certain it's not the space, but I can't think of anything else.

I can attach any audio files/pictures of the issue.

Someone please assist. It's affecting my work.
