Adobe Audition mixdown woes

Hey guys. I am desperately in need of your assistance, I'm relatively new to Adobe Audition so I believe I'm still experiencing some growing pains, here's my problem:

I recently began preparing for a podcast, bought 2 Samson USB mics, only to discover that a PC/Laptop can't recognize more than one USB mic, found out about ASIO4ALL and that seemed to do the trick, the problem I am having is after having recorded the podcast, using multitrack since I was using a lot of audio clips, my mix downs always come out distorted, either some music is missing, one mic is not audible or I don't even get the option to mixdown at all, is there a solution for this or am I in trouble. Thanks for the help in advance

Distortion on a multitrack mixdown is often because you've recorded each track someplace near the maximum level and, once they're added together, the sum goes above 0dB(FS) and distorts. The best solution is to simply record at a lower level--average about -18 with peaks in the -10ish range. However on material already recorded the workround is to simple turn down the level on each track. Keep the level of the final mix well below the 0dB level then do some "mastering" on your final mix to put the level where you want it.

On your other queries (missing tracks, no mixdown option) we really need to know more about your work flow. There are lots of ways you can accidentally turn a track down or off.
