Adobe Audition - Text to speech is broken

Hi there, relatively new user looking for a little help.

Any time I try to use the text to speech feature found by navigating Effects > Generate > Speech, the result always comes out with some kind of problem. The audio clip will always have the voice cut out and/or repeat itself in strange ways.

For example, if the text I enter is: "For more information, please go to website dot com"

Then the audio clip might say: "For more infor-- For more informa-- For more information, please go to website dot com"

Or the audio clip will sound fine, but it will repeat the statement two or even three times.

I'm completely lost as to what could be causing this and I've struggled like hell to find any discussions that even remotely address issues similar to this.

Please help!
