Adobe Audition Very Slow on Fast Computer

Hi everyone,

I got a new computer which was a susbstantial upgrade over my old one.
On my old computer Adobe Audition ran great and I never had a problem with speed.

But, with my new computer it lags a lot even with no effects and a relatively small number of tracks (3-4).

  • Click File/Save takes a long time
  • Clicking on an audio track and moving it. I'll click and it'll pause for 4-5 seconds and then highligh
  • Hitting play, there may be a 3-5 second pause and same with stopping the playback
  • And more

Current Computer:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KS 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 24H2

I have a Scarlett 18i8 audio interface.
I've tried running without it too. MME or ASIO.

I've tried most of the normal suggestions on a Google search for a slow Adobe Audition.
Any ideas?

Same issue.
Audition started doing this 2 weeks ago without apparent cause.

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700HX 2.10 GHz
Installed RAM 32,0 GB (31,7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 24H2

In MME or WASAPI both.
I tried disabling and enabling external VST's, updating drivers, clear media cache, and all the usual stuff

It's excruciating; I've cleared the cache, deleted a bunch of files AND programs from my computer (even though there's plenty of space), restarted it, quit and restarted Audition bunches of times....it's making my editing take like 3x longer than it needs to. Please, would really love a solution!
