ADOBE AUDITION WHILE ZOOM SCREEN SHARING

Hello.  Sometimes when I record in Audition, I will connect with an engineer remotely via ZOOM.  Then I will share my screen with the engineer so they can take control of my computer during recording.  ONLY when I SHARE my Zoom screen and record in Audition do I get abominable static and crackling in the recording file.  You cannot hear this static/crackling sound during recording; ONLY in the playback.  One time I had recorded about 15 pages of copy only to find out later, the whole file was unuseable because of this.

My engineer, then downloaded Reaper to record in instead.  I still shared my screen with him via Zoom and we had absolutely no problems recording.  The files came out clean.  Thanks in advance for any offers of help.

What is happening in Audition that is causing this static and crackling sound?  Has anyone had this experience?  I cannot get it to stop.  It only happens if I share my screen.
