Adobe Audition won't open any mp4 files

Every time I try to open an mp4 file in audition, it won't work. It'll just stop responding and eventually close and ask to send a crash report. What do i do?

    Are these mp4 that contain video? You really need to find out a bit more about what is contained in the mp$ files and what their format is. https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo can help you find what's actually in the file.
