Hey everyone. I've been fighting with Adobe Audition for the past two hours, i've gone through youtube tutorials and nothing is working. Maybe you can help.

I'm trying to do a Podcast with a friend and I THOUGHT the difficult part would be recording the phone call. That setting up my USB mic would be easy. HA, not so much.

Anyway. I've gone into audio hardware and set default input to USB DIGITAL AUDIO

then on track 1, i have Stereo [015] USB DIGITAL AUDIO: FRONT LEFT

I've pressed R

and nothing. It doesn't accept it. I speak and the levels don't move. Can anyone shed some light on this problem please.

Thanks.

Whatever you've done, you definitely haven't selected the mic! The last person who we heard from who tried to set up a Neewer 7000 gave up, according to the thread (which has no useful information in it, so I won't provide a link). Does the microphone come with any software at all? If it doesn't, you have to go through the Windows Sound settings and make sure that the mic is set to be your default audio input, and only when that's set up correctly will you be able to select it as a record source. If it doesn't come up, or work in the Sound test, iot definitely won't work in Audition. In the Advanced sound options, you should check the Microphone access for your computer and make sure that this is set to On, and there are also a setting for allowing apps to access your mic, and that should be set to Off, but further down there's a setting to allow desktop apps to access it, and that should be On. It will only take one of these to stop it showing - you will probably have to go through the lot carefully, but when you do, it will be obvious in the hardware settings that you've got the mic selected - almost certainly it will show it by name.
