Any way of deleting hidden parts of clips on multitrack timeline?

As I trim, nudge, move clips in the timeline there are 'hidden' portions of clips - sometimes whole timeline clips. I can see this being useful but it can have unintended consequences (it is still 'used' media, for example).

Is there a command to 'remove hidden' or similar?

Thanks

Not directly, but a right-click on the clip on top in a track will give you an option to bring forward anything underneath it. Unless you've set it to play hidden clips though, there shouldn't be a problem with it being there. You can also reveal all the files used in a track in the File viewer. If you try to delete one that's actually being used, you'll get a warning telling you that the clip will be set to offline.
