Audio Adjustments Not Previewing in Real-Time

I've had an odd problem that only started last night. In Multitrack mode, I can usually make small adjustments while playing the mix and hear the results immediately, such as adjusting the volume or position of a clip. Lately, though, I am not able to hear these changes until I pause and play the mix. I can crank a clip's volume way up or down, but I will not be able to hear its effect until I pause and play again. Do you know why this is happening? Did I accidentally select an option?

There's no option that changes this. But beyond that, we can't really tell you anything, as we don't even know whether you're running a Mac or a PC. All I can say really is that if it's a PC, then blame M$ - they're a soft and particularly justified target when it comes to machines slowing down and misbehaving. It may be worth running the process monitor to find out if anything's using up 100% of your processing power during playback, as that would certainly impede any reactions to changes you made.
