audio crashing

Have recorded a VO file of 35 minutes all morning and suddenly find numerous examples of the screen shot attached. has anyone seen this before please?

How exactly did you record it? This looks for all the world like a sound device failure; the waveform remains continuous, which implies that your sound device has remained connected, but that it's not functioning correctly. But without knowing even basically what you are doing, or even if it's on a Mac or a PC, we can't get any further than that, I'm afraid.

Thank you. I thought that it might be connections between my Mic (Lewitt PURE 440), and my Interface (scarlet2i2) and my computer PC. So i rebooted and then tightened all connections and it does not appear to be happening on a 10 min recording that I have just made.

Looking back on my 37 minute recording it has happened numerous times and so i have checked and tightened all connections as described above again and so far there has been no repetition of said problem.

I think you must be right as usual. and i am much obliged to you!!!
