Since this has ended up in the Audition forum, I think it's worth pointing out that if you open a video file in any format that Audition recognises, then it will open the audio separately as a track that can be saved.

Where are you exporting from? This was posted in Lightroom Classic. Are you using Premiere Pro to extract the audio file? What did you shoot the video with?

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes it looks like I posted this in the wrong place. I am using Premiere Elements 13.

The video is from Christian Aid but I think probably originating from Utube.

I can separate the audio from the video, but then I want to save the audio into an audio file that I can use in PowerPoint. I think that would require a “save” to something or sometimes the act of saving appears to be referred to as “export”.

Just download a trial of Audition, and save it in that. As far as we could ever make out, the distinction between 'Save' and 'Export' is that Save will attempt to save what you've done in the same format, and Export will give you a wider choice of things you can do - although the distinction between Export and Save As is... blurry, as you get a lot of options in that too.

The reason that this will work better in Audition is that Audition doesn't have the ability to save in video formats, so the extracted audio can only be saved in an audio format. The Audition trial will run for a week, and is fully functional.
