Audio Hardware reverting to (system default)

I have a template to set Audition's I/O to the Rodecaster Multitrack; sometimes, this is swapped to the (system default) Rodecaster Multitrack. However, the template does not remember the assigned inputs.

Rodecaster Pro 2 Interface

It's preferable to not follow the system default. Does anybody have any experience with this?
