Audio lagging Playhead and Meters

Lately, we've a couple machines that are not playing audio inline with the playhead when started.

After a couple of false starts it will play normally, but anytime a different clip is selected there will be a good two seconds lag between playhead and actual audio.

We've already gone through the regular latency fixes. There is no hesitation or stuttering, just taking its time to get on track.
