Audio not coming into PP correctly after editing in Audition

Yes - don't use the Denoiser!

The problem here is that this is adaptive, and needs time to 'learn' what the characteristics of your track are. So if you instantiate it right at the start of a track, this is inevitably going to happen, I'm afraid.

If you want to reduce noise in a track, you are much better off treating this as a separate exercise. Import the whole track into Audition, select a section containing just the noise, and use this as a 'noise print' for the process-based Noise Reduction effect, which will then treat the entire track, without strange things happening at the start. Also you get a 'cleaner' reduction using this method, as the noise floor won't drift up and down with signal changes, which are almost inevitable with an adaptive system.

In general, treating raw material before you edit it can save a lot of headaches when it comes to putting it together - you get a much clearer idea of how the final result will sound as you go - this makes it much easier to set levels, for instance. It may take a little longer, but will make the actual edit easier, as you'll be able to concentrate more on the content rather than the problems.
