Audio repeating twice every second

Question

Hi all!
I have some recovered audio files from a recent recording that's going to be used for the Cancer Research Race For Life events this year due to an SD card corrupting.
When playing the audio, it repeats itself every second and also cuts out half of the audio. When uploading it to Audition, it looks like the original sound is there but it just does this weird repeating thing!
I've tried exporting the audio as a RAW file (.pcm) and importing it again but no luck.
Is there anything the wonderful Adobe Community copuld suggest please?
I've attached one of the audio files as an example.

What this looks like is the original recording, plus the -6 dB version of the same thing all concatenated into a single file. Doesn't matter how you open it, it's always going to look like that. What was the original recorded on?

Unfortunately, as such, the only thing you can do is edit it manually, being quite grateful that the individual segments are as long as they are! It's a very weird fault that would cause it to record like this, though...
