Audio repeats and skip when recording

I'm presuming that you are recording in Waveform view. If so, then something is going on with your temp buffer file. You might like to try relocating this to a space where the operating system can't get at it - by default it's in a shared space. The way it works in Wavform view is that your signal is recorded to a temp file, and not actually saved until you initiate the save when you've finished recording. Until you've done that successfully, your file is vulnerable. You can change the temp file location in Preferences.

The safest way to record in Audition is to use Multitrack view. Here, your signal is recorded direct to the final file, and this is far more robust; even if your system crashes, you will be able to recover everything up to that point.
