Audition 1.5 not recording.

i have Audient id4 sound module installed and have used it with audition 1.5 without issues on my older dell.

dell optiplex 7010 mt intel core i7-3770

And the sound is working with my other hardware. But when it comes to recording on audtition it just stalls says 'external error'

And then i have to restart audition.

I can play tracks on there fine.

The mic works on the new adobe audition but i prefer the older layout for working quicker.

Anyone any suggestions?
