Audition 12.0 causing static on playback for all files

I was on with Adobe support and had to revert back to 11.1 because regardless of the file put in Audition (Purchased recording, recorded local) it had major static in the playback mode. This happened regardless of audio output devices used.  When I take these files and play them in iTunes or put then premiere as part of the project do not have this issue.

I am on a MacBook pro with OS Mojave. Anyone else running into this issue?

    It sounds as though either the latency value (or the I/O buffer size - don't know how it's specified on a Mac) is set too low. This is either addressed directly from the hardware setup page in Audition, or from a link on the page to an external control panel. Try a higher value...
