Audition 2022 delay while editing

I have just updated Audition to 2022 and since then I have had a few seconds' delay while editing. This is only a single track recording with nothing else running and it is making it impossible to edit my audiobook projects. Is there anything I can do?

Can I reinstall 2021 that worked perfectly?

Yes, you can go back a single step - but not any further than that!

If you had the previous version - or indeed any previous versions - installed via the CC app, then they should be available to open from the app itself. In other words, if you didn't specifically uninstall a previous version, it's probably still there - just missing a desktop icon, or whatever. On this laptop, for instance, five versions of Audition show up as available, simply because I didn't uninstall them. And if you open them, they work fine, as all versions of Audition have always got on fine with each other on the same machine.

When I said that you can only go back to the -1 version, that would be for a fresh installation. So if you had nothing previous from CC installed, it would show the current version as being available, and the previous one. But no more than that.
