Hello,I've been using the M-Audio air 192/14 audio interface with Windows 11 Pro 24H2 for a long time.I use Adobe Premiere 2026, Audition 2026, Media Encoder, and After Effects daily for TV production – for 25 years.Apart from Audition, there have been no problems. For some time now, conflicts have been occurring between the applications and the interface. The interface switches to 44 kHz during operation. Premiere and Audition freeze briefly. Media Encoder then becomes very slow.A driver update for the interface did not resolve the issue.I have to disable the M-Audio air 192/14 every time I want to start Audition. Then, the audio settings show MME. When I then enable M-Audio, both applications find each other, and I can continue working. However, Premiere and Audition freeze intermittently for a few seconds, which makes working difficult.

    Have you contacted M-Audio?

yes, i have.  that is the answer.

“Since Audition crashes even when starting with the Shift key pressed, it strongly suggests a conflict right during the initialization of the AIR driver access.Let's decouple this as gently as possible:1. Place Audition on a different device without the AIR connected.Turn off/unplug the AIR.Start Audition normally.Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware:For testing purposes, set the device to MME/WASAPI Realtek or another internal sound card.Apply, close Audition.2. Reconnect the AIR and then switch to Audition.Turn on the AIR, then start Audition. In Audio Hardware, select M-Audio ASIO, 48 kHz / 256 samples.3. Reinstall the driver (if the crashes continue):Uninstall the M-Audio driver via Apps & Features.Remove the AIR device from Device Manager (including deleting the driver software).Restart your computer and install the latest AIR driver from m-audio.com.”

That is what i have done. Now i start Audition without M-Audio. Once Audition is running, I switch from MME to ASIO and M-Audio. The program then runs stably.

Since you haven’t told us whether this is on a Mac or a PC, and we haven’t been absolutely deluged with complaints about this, I’d say not a lot…

When you say it freezes, does it actually crash? And what are you actually trying to do at the time?

did this ever get decided?  i am having the same problems on my PC’s now… the window pops up every so often on one computer, Like if the computer screen goes to standby,  but the other one, it just stops the recording mid stream and i have to re record and hope it doesn’t pop up..

The conflict might be due to Windows updates from January 2026. It's likely these updates need to be uninstalled. I haven't done that yet, so I can't say anything further.
