Audition 3.0 record only when audio is present

Is there a way to "trigger" Audition to record only when audio is detected then stop recording when audio stops with automatic rearming? Almost every other recording software (Audacity, Sound Forge) has this feature. It is something that I  really need to have.

No. As I said above no version of Audition has any auto record mode.

No Audition has never had that in any of its versions I'm afraid. AA3 did have timed recording though which disappeared in later versions but is now back again in the latest ones.

Thank you. I am testing a Trial version of Audition 12. Does this version have the feature I asked about? If so, how do I enable it?
