Audition and Skype / Levels Fluctuate

Question

I'm using Adobe Audition CS5.5, Skype, and a Behringer Xenyx 302 USB to record my podcast. My partner and I each have the Xenyx on our ends of the line. While we record the podcast, the levels fluctuate wildy. So much so that I have to monitor the levels and ride the pods on my mixer to avoid overmodulation or near silence. Obviously, we're not touching anything on our devices or changing settings mid podcast. It seems to happen without any rhyme or reason. Any ideas?

Also, I'm on Windows 10.

Hi JayZ,It sounds like Skype might be the culprit. Do you have a recording device where you could record the podcast then bring that into Audition for mixing? JayZ,Can you download a trial of the current version and see if you have the same issue? I wonder about OS compatibility with legacy software like CS5.5. Test it out and report back. Same issue?Thanks,Kevin
