Audition asio issues with recording HELP!!

I have both 3.0 and CC installed on my laptop, running windows 10.. I have my sound going through an alesis USB mixer... Everytime I try to record a second track, it keeps picking up the first as well in the back. I have used audition many times this same way on old computers and never had an issue.

That will be down to how you have your Alesis mixer configured. That is the only place where both signals exist and can get mixed together if you are using ASIO drivers. Audition only records what gets sent to it from the audio device driver. Which Alesis mixer are you using? There is usually a return path from the software into the mixer so that you can monitor what is being played back. So somehow you have managed to get that routed back into the recording mix sent to Audition.
