Question

Audition back to Premiere Pro

I use Premiere / Audition / AE and AME version 22.0

And have installed the 4 Beta apps

When I modify a premiere pro (released 22.0) sequence in audition (the correct Audition released 22.0 is started), and export it back to Premiere pro, Audition starts Premiere Pro BETA !!! instead of standard version 22.0

Are there some link parameters ?

Thanks for the help

First thought - if that's happening, I'm pretty sure that it will be a bug - it's always supposed to return material from exactly where it got it from, and there's no mechanism visible within Audition to alter that. The other possibility is that installing the Premiere beta version has reset the the default file preferences, and this behaviour has taken precedence. The obvious thing to look at first is the file preferences, but if there's nothing wrong there, then report this behaviour on the beta forum.

Many thanks, Yes, that was the problem, Beta update resets the default file preference. All file types where reset to beta version.

I uninstall and reinstall all 22.0 version apps and the link back from Audition to Premiere Pro  is OK in version 22.0.

But there are new beta updates, will this not reset back the file preferences to Beta ?

What's about previus version (2021) if still installed ?  (the file preferences set to 2022 !!!)

I currently have 3 versions installed (2021, 2022, beta), how can all 3 versions link back to the correct version by using the default file preferences ?

Thanks for your help

The short and sweet answer is that they can't - for any given file type, you can only have a single app as its opening preference by default.

This is why it's best - especially with beta apps - to uninstall the previous version if you install a new one. In general, the round trip performance is always optimised across the most current releases of both apps. If you get out of sync with one release, quite often it won't work at all, or the behaviour is erratic.
