Audition CC 13.0.10.32 Stopped playing audio files

About a week ago my Audition (v.13.0.10.32) stopped playing back audio files.  It loads the file and I see a waveform, but when I push the play button, it turns green, the program shows "Playing" in the bottom left corner, but the playhead doesn't move.  I've also noticed when the application is open and I select another program and go back to the program, the spinning wheel shows up for 15sec exactly and then goes away.  Weird thing is that my audio plays in Premiere, After Effects and all other apps on my computer.  Can someone help?!?!  I've been down for a week and am backed up on projects.  I have a 2013 MacPro, OS Catalina 10.15.1, 2.7 GHz 12-Core Xeon E5, 64GB 1866 MHz DDR3, AMD FirePro D700 6GB.

I'm not a novice when it comes to troubleshooting and computers as this is part of my job.  I've followed several threads on here and have done most everything others said to do and nothing.  I even called Adobe 2x for over an hour each, had them log into my screen, and they keep going through same steps and nothing works.

Here's some of what I've done:

• Checked to make sure my audio Channel Mapping is good

• Checked my Audio Hardware settings, all is good

• Changed different settings in Audio Hardware, saved them, and changed them back to proper settings as some have suggested

• Closed program and reset preferences by pressing shift + click open program

• Renamed the Common Folder and Audition Folder to "commond.old" and "audition.old" in the Library folder and opened program and same result.

• Opened Audition from Creative Cloud App instead of on computer (Adobe suggested doing that)

• Uninstalled v 13 and installed v12 and even one from 2009, still didn't work

• Used different files, created new projects, imported .mp4 and .mov with no change

• cleared my cache in Audtion, set up a secondary cache location, changed the primary location to different external storage units

• PRAM reset on Mac

• opened my terminal app to reset the Core Audio "sudo killall coreaudiod"

• Restarted computer and had all other apps closed, opened audition and no change

• Deleted ALL Audition applications, searched for the audition .plist and any files associated with audition in the Library folder, deleted them, emptied trash, so there was no trace of it on the computer and reinstalled v13.0.10.32 and still nothing.

I'm at a loss and at my wits end!  It just doesn't make sense that ALL other applications are working fine and my audio works with literly everything else on this computer.  Any of you have anything else I can try?

Hopefully, somewhere down the line this helps somone.  Adobe couldn't help me figure it out and I really was at a loss.  I have studio speakers connected to my computer and I usually leave them powered on 24/7 as we have different editors come in, well one of my guys turned the speakers off and I came in and had to power them on again, and Audition started playing back audio.  I'm not 100% sure that was the fix, but that's the only thing we didn't try because we were getting sound on all other applications on the same system without the restart.  It would seem that somehow, Audition lost recognition of the speakers even though all the settings were correct and the restart somehow allowed the program to recognize them again.  Regardless, all is well again.
