Question

Audition CC 2017 and Presonus AR12

I am trying to install a Presonus AR12 in my recording studio. Audition recognizes the presonus but I am not able to control the channels and inputs from the board into audition. I will have a microphone in Channel 1 fader down, gain down, muted but audition still gets signal as if I were mixing it live. Pre and Post fade control do not have any effect on it.

Any ideas how to mix from the board while recording into Audition?

It would seem that the AR12 can send up to 14 individual channels via USB to your DAW software so that you can record all your instruments onto separate tracks in the Multitrack view. These are fed from each channel immediately after the input gain stage of each channel on the mixer. This is what you are hearing with all the faders down.

If you want to just record the stereo mixed output into Audition (or other software) you have to select the button above the Main output fader on the AR12 in order to route Stereo output instead of channels 1 & 2 to the first two USB inputs to the PC. See the AR12 user manual.

Thanks for the reply! I am trying to mix in multitrack view but want to have control from the console. If I switch it to Stereo, I lose the multitrack mixing option. Any work arounds?

No. I'm afraid that it is one or the other. But Audition should have all the tools you need to mix in the box. What are you needing to control using the mixer?
