Audition CC + Mojave + Focusrite 2i2 = Not recording

Hi all!

A preemptive mea culpa to any admin who must redirect my question if it's been previously answered. I could not find one that specifically addresses my issue.

My situation is as listed in the title. 2013 iMac all-in-one running Mojave.

It began just after I upgraded to Mojave without thinking. I know... Bonehead move. I was running Audition CS5 before and using an Avid Fast Track C400.

After some research, I determined I needed a new interface because a lot of interfaces were dead in the water. Went with the Focusrite 2i2. Updated the settings in Audition, still not recording. Made sure the input in multitrack properly reflected the interface. Still nothing. Playback, however, was fine.

Tried upgrading to Audition CC thinking maybe that would help. Welp, despite now being a member of the modern world and down $260... no recording.

Everything is set in Audition for the 2i2. Playback and input. Still, no recording. I can get it to record just fine with ProTools but Audition is my longtime go to.
