Question

Audition CC - Static when recording stereo mix?

Hi all,

I was hoping someone might be able to figure this out as I've tried many things so far.  When I record from Stereo Mix in audition's multitrack recording, the sound comes with static/distortion (See link: Audition CC Stereo Mix Static - YouTube).

Here are some things I've tried to fix this:

-Listen to this device is unchecked for stereo Mix

-Disabled my onboard PC microphone

-Tried various sample rates when starting a new project

-Updated Realtek sound drivers to the most current

-Turned off Bluetooth

-Recorded from YouTube In a web browser AND a separate game program

-Turned my cell phone off since it was nearby

Here's the strangest part.  I downloaded Audacity and recorded using that program.. no static.  It sounded perfect.  This makes me think there's some setting or feature within Audition that I'm missing.  I'm very new to the software so this is entirely possible.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Can you show us a screen grab of your settings in Audition's Audio Hardware preferences page?

    Sure, here it is.

    Thanks for your effort.
