Audition CC, when trying to create a noise print

I'm getting a message "a severe error was encountered (Code 00000008). I'm trying to reduce a noise in the track. what's going on? This has never happened before. running Mac, OS 10.11.6, 64GB, Audition CC 2017.1, build 10.1.0.174

If you go back to the forum home page and look at the top where it says (admittedly not too clearly) 'Announcements' you'll find all the information you need about this known bug. Also there are plenty more forum posts about it.
