Audition CC2018 vs. CC2019

I'm wondering how everyone's been finding the stability of CC2019. (At least the Windows version.) Ever since it came out, I've been using it (Build 12.0.0.241) side-by-side with CC2018 (Build 11.1.1.3).

I love everything about the new version, especially the new colors and the clip waveforms scaling (and I'd love to see more of that sort of thing in future releases!) But I am finding it buggy. The main thing that seems to happen is occasionally hearing muted tracks in playback and/or unmuted tracks not being heard in playback. Just restarting Audition seems to slap the program upside the head and fixes it, but this gets to be pretty annoying and I find myself running back to CC2018 just for the stability.

Is anyone else having this problem or any other oddities?

Thanks for reporting! We are already aware of an issue in CC 2019 when duplicating tracks. This issue that leads to the behaviour you describe. Do you remember whether you duplicated tracks in that particular session?

Ah! Yes! I knew there was something else going wonky, and it's that CC 2019 sometimes crashes on me when I duplicate a track. And now I see that maybe these things are connected. I don't recall if this muted-tracks-play-and-vice-versa problem was on a duplicated track, but I wouldn't be surprised. Seems likely.

Last week we shipped a patch to CC 2019 that fixes the issue when duplicating tracks. As your session already shows the problem, you can repair it by duplicating the tracks that have that issue and deleting the original track afterwards. Let me know in case you need assistance.
