Question

Audition continues recording process, but stops actually recording voice

So, this has started for no reason over the past two weeks and it's getting worse.

I start a recording and the waveforms are showing as you would expect, then after no particular time, Audition fades out the audio I'm trying to record but continues to record nothing (if that makes sense).

What should be a 6 minute process, ends up at 20 or more as I have to stop, start another file and find out where it stopped recording. total rubbish

Using a Mac (Catalina) recording waveform, Rode NT1-A with Audient Evo4. Hope that helps

Ah, if it's a Mac we're in slightly different territory - that most of us don't know about. For Macs though, the latest driver for the Evo4 is v4.1.12. If all else fails, call Audient - they are very helpful. (This is first-hand experience...)

You really need to provide a lot more detail so someone can help, eg Mac or PC, recording into Multitrack or Waveform view, audio interface, etc

The one thing we can say about this is that if the audio fades out, then almost certainly this is a driver issue. Audition is noted for recording very accurately everything that's been sent from your audio interface, and it's the driver that mediates this. Have you updated your audio driver lately? But like SuiteSpot says, we need more details. We might be good, but miracles are a bit of a tall order!
