Audition crashes/freezing - complex multitrack

When I try to move a large selection of clips in a complex multitrack session, eight out of ten times audition is crashing (pre-render track is off).

Any suggestions?

If it's a crash, then you need to do what it says here: Audition Crashed - now what? You might like to post the log files here as well as sending them to audbugs@adobe.com because the cause may be obvious. But without that, we get nowhere - there are far too many possibilities.
